Set forth on February 17, 2018

The following agreements were made as a policy for “Organize,” “Co-organize,” “Cooperate,” and “Endorse” by the Japan Neuroscience Society:
  1. “Organize” requires discussion and acceptance by the executive board.
  2. “Co-organize” can be authorized by the president but requires prior acceptance by the executive board.
  3. “Cooperate” and “endorse” can be authorized by the director of general affairs with a subsequent report to the executive board.
Organize: Internal support
Performs and bears full responsibility for one of the three below:
  1. Planning and operation, or participation in planning and operation
  2. Allocation to or encouragement for the participation of staff members in the event concerned
  3. Providing administration costs as special expenditures
Co-organize: Internal support
Performs and bears partial responsibility for one of the three below:
  1. Planning and operation, or participation in planning and operation
  2. Allocation to or encouragement for the participation of staff members in the event concerned
  3. Providing administration costs as special expenditures
Cooperate: External support
Similar meaning as “Endorse” and only the usage of the name is approved. However, “Cooperate” creates a stronger impression than “Endorse” in terms of the level of support and thus the usage of the name for “Endorse” is encouraged as a general principle and the use of the name for “Cooperate” is approved only when there is a specific request for it.  
Endorse: External support
Only the usage of the name is approved. For each event, a prior request including the following items shall be made to the Japan Neuroscience Society Secretariat for their permission:
(1) Name of the requesting organization
(2) Name of the representative
(3) Address and phone number
(4) Purpose and timing of the event
(5) Contact information (name, phone number, and email of the person in charge)
