Announcement of the call for the 2026 JNS-CNS Travel Award

Dear JNS members,
The 19th Chinese Neuroscience Meeting will be held in Fuzhou on September 10-13, 2026.
In recent years, JNS is enhancing the relationship with the Chinese Neuroscience Society (CNS) and invites several young scientists to the Annual Meeting with travel award. Reciprocating our initiative, the CNS also welcomes Japanese young scientists to their annual meeting with travel award.
For the upcoming 19th CNS meeting in Fuzhou, CNS will provide 6 travel awards, each award consisting of 800 USD to contribute towards covering travel and accommodation expenses and a waiver of the registration fee.
Here we announce a call for application for the 2026 JNS-CNS Travel Award. CNS recommend prioritizing Ph.D. students or postdoctoral researchers who have no prior experience of living or working in China. Applicants are requested to prepare JNS-CNS Travel Award Application as below.
  • Application Deadline:
March 10, Tuesday, 2026 at Noon, JST.
  • Note:
  • This is not available to those who are in arrears with their JNS annual membership fees (At the time of application, we will check the payment status up to 2025, but please be sure to pay the annual membership fee for 2026 as well).
  • Awardees must attend CNS 2026 in person and present a poster at the meeting; otherwise, the award will be revoked.
  • The travel grant will be reimbursed after the meeting, upon submission of required reimbursement documents. Detailed reimbursement instructions will be provided to awardees by the CNS secretariat.
  • Awardees are expected to participate in designated international exchange activities organized during the conference.
  • Application Materials (in English):
1. - 3. should be collated into a single pdf file.
  1. Name, Age, Affiliation, Position, JNS membership number, and Motivation letter (250 words max. in English)
  2. One-page curriculum vitae in English that includes the following information.
  • Education and professional experience, if any: please explicitly mention the date when the applicant received (or is expected to receive) his/her Ph.D. degree.
  • Honors/awards, if any.
  • Bibliography of all peer-reviewed and invited publications, as well as meeting abstracts.
  • If you cannot fit it in one page, you can submit an additional page.
