[Information on Junior Membership/Overseas Junior Membership] *No procedure is required.
Junior Member and Overseas Junior Member are membership categories designed to support young researchers who have completed graduate school, and the annual membership fee is 6,000 yen (3,000 yen for Overseas Junior Member).
In order to be a Junior Member or Overseas Junior Member, a recommendation by a Regular Member (or Overseas Regular Member) had been required in addition to an application from the individual who becomes a Student Member or Overseas Student Member. However, we have received many comments that this recommendation should not be necessary because Student Members already received recommendations at the time of joining the Society. Therefore, we have decided at the General Assembly in July 2021 that Student Members or Overseas Student Members who have not completed the procedures to renew their membership will automatically be changed to Junior Members or Overseas Junior Members.
In response to the above, Student Members or Overseas Student Members who have not renewed their membership by December 10, 2021 will be Junior Members or Overseas Junior Members for 5 years starting in 2022. If you intend to become a Junior Member or Overseas Junior Member, no procedure is required.
If you have any questions, please contact the secretariat at firstname.lastname@example.org
*If you are already a Junior Member or Overseas Junior Member, you do not have to take any special procedures.
