Applying Neuroscience to Business

Concept
The advancement of basic neuroscience has great potential to enrich our lives through catalyzing innovation. Often however, the fruits of neuroscience research have been confined to the academia world with limited opportunities for the public to benefit from them. Knowledge gained from neuroscience research has also been used as marketing copy for products and services but lacking concrete scientific evidence and at other times manifested in various myths regarding human behavior, personalities, etc.
As a counter to this, we aim to encourage the application of scientific evidence-based neuroscientific knowledge and methodologies in and for society by promoting dialogue between people engaged in basic research and those working in industry. These dialogues will help launch joint research projects. The scope of this conference includes not only neuroscience but also behavioral science, cognitive science and psychological science, all of which can be applied to business and society.

About the Meeting
Applying Neuroscience to Business aims to promote dialogue between academics and business professionals interested in applying behavioural sciences, behavioural economics, psychology, and neuroscience to solve real world problems related to business, social enterprise, public health, and education. The meeting is for academics and business professionals (at all levels). The meeting’s format consists of keynote speakers, themed sessions, round-table discussions, poster sessions, and a half-day "Neuro-Hack-a-Thon" for collaborative brainstorming around key areas of consumer neuroscience. Both the format of the meeting and the reception provide ample opportunities for networking and offline discussions.
