Research curriculum in Cognitive Social and Affective Neurosciences (CoSAN)
WHAT
3 three-year funded PhD positions in Cognitive, Social and Affective Neuroscience (CoSAN) programme (https://phd.uniroma1.it/web/pagina.aspx?s=&i=3533&m=&l=EN&p=48&a=.)
New: CoSAN programme offers, to at least one of the selected candidates, the possibility to achieve a joint PhD degree in agreement with City University, London (UK).
WHO
Highly motivated applicants with a deep interest in systems neuroscience and higher-order cognitive, affective and social functions are encouraged to apply. Preferred Degrees: Psychology, Medicine, Neuroscience, Philosophy, Computational Neuroscience, Computer graphics, Computer Science, Biomedical engineering, Statistics, Mathematics. Computer Programming skills are in particularly high demand.
Applications are invited from candidates who:
  • hold an Italian diploma di laurea / laurea specialistica / laurea magistrale in any discipline,
  • hold an equivalent second-level degree (generally equivalent to a Master’s Degree) obtained in any country , in any discipline
  • expect to receive their degree award by October 31, 2021
WHERE
STIPEND
Euro €15.343,28 per year; which includes I.N.P.S. - National Insurance Contributions which fellowship recipients are required to pay (around 11,41%).
The amount of the scholarship can be increased by 50% for research periods spent abroad, previously authorized by the Ph.D. Coordinator.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
Admission is based on an evaluation of the skills and aptitude of the candidate, and the selection procedure includes two steps:
Phase 1. Evaluation of qualifications
Phase 2. On site (or video-conference) interview
Results and time schedule of the on-site interviews will be available by July the 29th, 2021
On site interviews will be in September 9-10th, 2021 at the Department of Psychology. It is possible, following motivated requests, to conduct Phase 2 interview using video-conferencing facilities.
