Inhibition in the central nervous systems Gordon Research Seminar 2025
The “Inhibition in the Central Nervous System” (CNS) Gordon Research Seminar (GRS), also called “Global Inhibitory Cascades in the CNS” is happening on the 5th and 6th of July 2025 at the Grand Summit Hotel at Sunday River, Maine, US. This seminar will dive into three key topics related to inhibition: 1) the distinctive roles of subcortical GABAergic neurons and their impact on behaviour and network dynamics, 2) the modulation of inhibitory processes, encompassing factors such as glial cells, neuromodulators, the immune system, and others, and 3) insights derived from computational modelling and analyses. During the poster sessions, attendees are encouraged to engage in discussions covering theoretical, computational, and experimental results of their inhibition research, spanning micro to macro scales.
The “Inhibition in the CNS” GRS precedes the Inhibition in the CNS Gordon Research Conference (GRC) and provides a unique forum for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers to meet before the conference. During the GRS, the attendees are encouraged to present and discuss unpublished work, attend a mixer dinner, where trainees working on related topics will be matched into groups, and a mentorship lunch, where early career researchers and doctoral students will be matched with more experienced attendees, to promote scientific discussions and networking. Together, the GRS creates a diverse global community that encourages collaboration, discussions and engagement.
